7:14 Prayer Event - More Than Gold

15 June 2012

On Thursday evening (14th June), in the centre of the city of Newcastle upon Tyne, a group of Christians gathered together to pray as a prelude to the arrival of the Olympic Torch and Prayer Baton on Friday (15th June). It was a bit like a flash mob who just hear the word and appeared wearing RED, not knowing if we'd recognise anyone.

It was called the 7:14 Prayer event which is a vision to see a wave of public prayer and worship sweep the UK. There are 70 consecutive days of these events catalysed by the Olympic Torch.

Friday will be a fabulous occasion as the Torch enters the city and does a 7mile lap. The Prayer Baton will arrive at the Anglican Cathedral at 6:00pm.

We have a 90 year old who still runs marathons, doing his bit. He is so excited.
Look out for the next update after the event. Surely a great sign of HOPE to our nation and the world
